Albergo Giulia Gonzaga

In the centre of the historical UNESCO site of Sabbioneta is located the Giulia Gonzaga hotel, a place where warm hospitality and timeless atmosphere are the key.

Our fresco painted walls, comfortable and fully renovated rooms and common areas and our rich breakfast are some of the distinctive marks, that make our guests come back over the years.

The hotel is surrounded by the Italian history of the XIV century, that seduces even the most distracted of the visitors.

The strategic location makes the Giulia Gonzaga hotel the perfect starting point to visit some close beautiful cities of Parma, Mantova, Cremona and Verona and allows you to fully appreciate our green and relaxing country side, whose main protagonists are the biggest Italian river Po and its affluent Oglio.

Our guests often come back just to find a cosy refuge after a long working day or to relax in front of one of our chimneys after a cold day of winter.

Mantova and Sabbioneta, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008

Mantova e Sabbioneta, un unico Bene Patrimonio Mondiale riconosciuto nel 2008 dall’UNESCO

Like two sides of the same coin, Mantova e Sabbioneta are two fundamental cities for the territorial planification and urbanistic development, that the Gonzaga family undertook in their dominions: Sabbioneta is one of the best exemplaries of “Ideal Cities” in Europe, designed by the head of the Gonzaga family, Vespasiano. Mantua is the perfect example of a transforming city, that has been modified to accomplish the Renaissance urban standards.

The two above mentioned cities have been built thanks to the collaboration of some of the most famous Italian artists, like: Leon Battista Alberti, Luca Fancelli, Andrea Mantegna and Giulio Romano in Mantova, whereas Vicenzo Scamozzi and Bernardino Campi in Sabbioneta. Mantova and Sabbioneta are an extraordinary proof of the exchange of influences and cultures typical of the Renaissance. They are the main urban examples of the Renaissance.
